Is Magento hosting cloud-based?
It depends. We usually provide the Magento hosting service on dedicated servers, (i.e. entire servers dedicated to the needs of a single client).
We provide smaller Magento hosting services using Centuria’s in-house IaaS cloud. The service is then not 100% separated. Weensurehighlevel of separationso that one client does not trigger the failure of another. In doing so, we offer very low cost of servers, high scalability and availability of the solution.
It is worth noting that the understanding of the term “cloud” is very important. On the market we can find, for example, Bare Metal Cloud services, which from the client’s point of view are practically the same as dedicated servers. Let us remember that cloud is only a name, and the computing units (servers, processors, RAM, disks) are the same in cloud and dedicated hosting.
Why should I host Magento on a server rather than in the cloud?
Centuria’s task is to consult and design the best possible infrastructure. There are many solutions on the market and each has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Cloud has its own strengths, you can read about them here . The dedicated server, which is the basis for Magento maintenance, is dedicated to one client only, while remaining completely separate from other clients. For this reason, it provides greater stability and performance, while offering a much lower cost, as it does not need an additional cloud software layer (purchased externally or developed internally by the provider – along with support for it). Deploying a dedicated server also has other additional advantages – shorter Time To Market, much simpler implementation (less risk of mistakes) and lower cost (through less work).
Where will my data be stored?

We have full control over where your data is. Centuria’s headquarters are located at ul. Sarmacka 11 in Poznań. We also provide some services based on the public cloud, in which case the location of the data is determined according to the needs of the specific project. In this case, a declaration from the Cloud provider is required.
If the server room is destroyed (e.g. burned down), will I still have access to the data?
Yes, you will have access to your data. All projects at Centuria have a backup policy in place and this determines data ownership.
We recommend and offer multi-level backup options to all clients, including live copies across multiple data centres. Choosing the extent to which the client wants to implement security measures is left up to the client’s business decisions. Technically, we are able to provide resilience to the failure of 2 or more independent data centres.
What options do I have for scaling?
